Nikki & Clay / Anniversary Photos / Sachuest Point

My kids and I like to make up stories.  We’re the Super Jaggi’s! When we make up a new story everyone gets to pick a superpower.  Then I make up some ridiculous story with silly problems that can only be solved with the help of each member of our family using their superpower.

As I was driving away from shooting this session with Nikki and Clay I realized what superpower I REALLY wish I had.  If I could pick any superpower it would be controlling the weather. It would be really useful in a lot of ways, but especially as a photographer.  Just think how awesome it would be to make the clouds part and let the sun peak through, or move clouds in front of the sun. I could stop the wind, make it blow the other direction, or move hair or clothing so that fell perfectly in place.  It would be fantastic! On this shoot however, I would definitely have slowed the wind and made it much, much, much, warmer! New England gets COLD.

These two are seriously tough.  Especially Nikki. They didn’t have any photos from their wedding they loved and decided that it was something they wanted, even if it was 15 years later. (Also, how amazing is it that 15 years after getting married and having children they can both fit into their wedding clothes? I don’t think many people can do that.)  Nikki, in her gorgeous dress picked for a winter wedding in Florida, was such a good sport. She got the full force of the brisk New England wind and didn’t complain once. As a photographer I have so much appreciation and respect for people who value photos enough to take them even when it would be so much easier to stay comfortably inside.

I enjoyed working with these guys so much. It was totally worth freezing the the New England December air.  They are such a fantastic couple. They are both fun, happy, personable, and incredibly good sports. I’m so glad they took the time to come out and freeze with me.
